Driftwood

7.8C cloudy and dull with a light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound had an appointment with the Vet this morning. Her neck was examined thoroughly. She is not quite as bendy as the Vet would like but he is pleased with the improvement. Medication is now on a reducing dose and we don't have to go back unless there is a return of symptoms. Good news.

After lunch Maeve and I walked down to the shore road, along to the level crossing and back along the beach to Westhaven. No one was around at the Fishermen's huts. Valhalla VI was floating at her mooring in the channel in the rocks.

I decided that it might be a good idea to get a blip of the woven fence and clever pebble wall that the man in the end cottage has built to protect his garden from stormy high tides. He has piled sand up beyond the fence and encouraged dune grasses to grow to hold the sand in place. I rather like his driftwood sculpture. It makes a good place to have a garden chair or two for sitting and looking out to sea :-)
