The Lighthouse

This afternoon I had a meeting at The Lighthouse in Glasgow. It is Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture and the original part of the building was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It was his first public commission, in 1895, and was the warehouse at the rear of the old Herald building, the section you can see here was the tower that he designed to house a massive water tank that could be utilised if the building went on fire.

Today The Lighthouse is an interesting blend of old and new, as you can see here.
