Herm Island Laundry Day

Herm is a small island off the East coast of Guernsey.
In the height of summer, the "Travel Trident" will ferry many hundreds of visitors and locals across the three mile stretch of water to enjoy the delights of Herm Island.
Some holiday makers stay for a day trip, others will remain longer.
One of my jobs as a laundry van driver, is to deliver clean towels and linen to ferry each morning as it makes it's first crossing. The clean laundry will then find it's way to either the main hotel on Herm, or else the self catering residences.
The ferry will return with a mass of dirty linen which I then collect and take in for cleaning.
All summer there have been upwards of 20 bags a day to collect. All summer I've been driving around in a teeny little van which could hardly cope with the work load. This time of year, however, I only collect about three bags, twice a week ... hence the much larger Transit van ... :o)
