Tolbooth Tavern

After spending the morning chairing the Education and Culture Committee the early part of the afternoon was spent in the Chamber listening to the statement from the First Minister on the Glasgow helicopter crash. The First Minister and the leaders of the other parties all spoke well about the tragedy and the victims of this terrible accident. It still seems almost unreal that a police helicopter crashed into the roof of the Clutha Vaults pub in Glasgow on Friday night.

After the vote was over just after 5pm, I headed to the MacDonald Holyrood hotel where I was sponsoring an event for the Heritage Lottery Fund on their grants available to commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War One.

At the end of the event I headed to the Canongate to take some photographs, but by then the rain had started and so I just took a couple of shots of the Tolbooth Tavern before getting in out of the rain.
