Letting autumn in

Having noticed the trees changing colour as I drove into work this morning, I then walked past this solitary autumnal interloper in a doorway.

Like an advance raiding party, a warning of the leafy deluge to come.

Don't you think that just once, it'd be great if all the deciduous trees got together and said, "sod it. This year we're going to keep our leaves." But oh no. It's the same every time. The impressionable buggers see one tree with red leaves, and they all have to have them. Next thing you know, you're knee-deep in scrunchy brown cast-offs.
