Red Breasted Merganser (female).

This one caught me by surprise, like yesterday's bird it was in amongst ducks and gulls. It's always nice to find the unexpected. I had to check this bird out in my little reference book, as it was new one to me.
The male bird is more colourful I believe, but there were none around.
