Mequinenza on Rio Segre

I stopped in a town called Jueda for a mid-morning coffee. Unbeknownst to me, the road I would take into Jueda was the meeting ground for the start of a mountain bike race. The juxtaposition of a fully loaded road bike with a platoon of specialised mountain bikes gave rise to a flurry of puzzled looks in my direction, which were met by a bewildered look of my own.

For the most part, the scenery was fairly boring until I reached the Rio Segre, a slight deviation chosen specifically for the landscape. (The river was so prominent in fact, that it was easily visible from the plane on the flight back.)

Some more mechanical issues: the third flat tyre of the trip, just outside Lleida. This was nothing compared to the ominous creaking noises coming from my cassette.

Found a camp site right on the shore of Lake Caspe.
