POSTWAR IMPORT

After the second world World War, in housing crisis, Scotland turned to Scandinavia for ideas resulting in the introduction of timber housing for council build and some were erected in Fife when I was a boy. I joked then that they were chocolate houses because of the resemblance to Aero Chocolate bars. I always had a sweet tooth and unfortunately sweets were still an item of wartime rationing so it was with wishful thinking I viewed them. Now as I drive past I remember childhood longings and acknowledge that the chocolate has not lost its bloom.
