Blue Tit

[Virgin eventually restored their TV and internet service just before lunch so Yesterday's blip was back-blipped at 1pm today. See it here.]

Blue Tit, Parus caeruleus

Taken from the bird hide at Kinghorn Loch.

The water rail put in an appearance once again but refuses to cooperate. It waits until the light has almost gone and my best shutter speed is 1/40th sec. It then lurks behind the foliage and when it passes a gap, it is always on the move. I have now seen it three times this week but not got anything blipworthy - yet.

Weatherwise, we seemed to miss the worst of the wind - no local damage and trees still standing.
We did have a heavy snow squall just after lunch though and temperatures have stayed around freezing all day. That is why this blue tit is all puffed up.
