Flying like the wind and farewell

Of course farewell is for the great Nelson Mandela. My thoughts are with the peoples of South Africa who will be mourning this great man's passing.

It was the last day of games today and I covered the basketball. Tomorrow is the closing celebrations. Wow, the athletes were fast, played well and meant business. I was so moved the by coach's speech of the Men's Phillipines team who won the gold medal. He spoke of the hardship his country has gone through with the terrible storm and how grateful they were to be at the games. Well it was our total pleasure to have them.

This evening the teams were taken to one of seven beaches and given a beach experience. Some of course are in landlocked countries and would never have seen the sea before. I was covering Stockton Beach. This fellow was totally at home He comes from Bangladesh and was flying like the wind running from the beach into the water.

Friday here again. Tomorrow is pageants at the Nursing homes (3 we are going to). It is more a show of obedience or in the Hs case disobedience rather than a pageant but the residents generally love it. The evening is closing ceremonies and then Sunday is the last of the Santa Photos and then Sundancers Christmas party. I might surface by Monday. Hope you all have a great weekend.
