Triple Kirks

A view of the war memorial , the Triple Kirks and the back of the Belmont Cinema.
The Triple Kirks is the historic redbrick tower and spire built by Archibald Simpson in the 1800s. The site has been derelict since the 1970s (apart from a pub) and work has only recently started to convert the site into an office development. As is often the case in the Granite City the proposed glass office development has been rubbished by some folk as not being architecturally correct for the area . To my mind anything is preferable to the derelict site I've walked past most of my life.
