Lake Refections and a Rising Cormorant

Finally found some subtle light at the end of a grey misty day. There was the shopping excuse to go "down the valley" and take a short walk by the Vieux Rhone (which is a natural harbour at our end of Lake Geneva) just as the sun disappeared. The snow, which should have arrived in Switzerland today, seems to have fallen onto our Finnish blip friends.

Easier to spot the cormorant and its reflection, in large.

BAD DAY FOR SQUIRRELS - the trees which had the pink spot in our lane have been felled and my little, black, squirrel friend was frantic yesterday evening when the foresters had left. He was running up and down the stump that was left of the tree that used to be his home. I hope he has found a place to stay. It made me reflect on the use of wooden furniture, one rarely thinks about the effect on the wildlife!
