Ain't No Sunshine....

for what feels like weeks....but to tell the truth i'm happy with this atmosphere, i love walking in the misty woods, it was raining, but not heavy and it is very mild today.

Had an interesting experience just as i set out on my walk. I came upon a very fresh pile of scat.....almost used it as the blip, but .... na! Right in the middle of the path that leads from the house to the cabins, so pretty close to our home! At first i thought it might be coyote - but on closer examination (i used a long stick) there was evidence of apples, we have a few trees in the yard, decided it was probably bear! I'm always pretty aware of the fact that i live in close proximity to wild animals, but nothing confirms it more than a pile of very fresh (it wasn't steaming....but it was very recently dumped) scat close to your home.

In other news, started another painting....i've just done the underpainting so now it's time to apply the pastel.....loving this place of uninterupted freedom. Just Terry, the dogs and me! Our cabins have been dormant now for about 2 weeks and there won't be anyone in there for another week. It is such an amazing contrast to the busy time of spring, summer and fall....lots of folks around.....and now, very tranquil.
