Tree in a tree

I believe this small evergreen is growing out of the stump of an old tree.

Drizzly and cold this morning, then by evening it was snowing. The forecast for our area is 3 to 6 inches, but so far it's coming slowly.

I was hoping to go to a craft show tomorrow but now it will depend on how things transpire overnight. I don't like to let the weather dictate what I do, but also I don't want to take chances if it's not necessary.
