Santa Claus has come to town

...on a fire truck....on a very cold night!
A small but brave group of people gathered in our City Center Park for some caroling (big kudos to the high school kids who came to sing!), the arrival of Santa Claus and the lighting of the Christmas trees.
This wonderful Santa is (don't tell) our friend Denny. Denny LOVES to be Santa Claus. He used to ride around town on a decorated scooter, but Mrs. Claus put an end to that a couple years ago when he lost control on the ice. He and his wife Mary make hundreds of cookies every year and deliver them to everyone in the nursing homes and many friends. We will get a visit either from Denny or Santa in a couple weeks when he delivers our treats.
