Blipmeet at The Brewery

It was such a treat to meet up with 10 other blippers this afternoon, at Cassells Brewery in Woolston, Christchurch. I've been admiring images from all the people who came and it was lovely to meet some of them in person for the first time. The Brewery gave us a large table at a marquee at the back of the building so we were relatively quiet and able to chat away without noise and interruptions. I see that there have been some images of The Tannery blipped from this afternoon - which is only a few metres away from where we met. They're both fascinating destinations and are well worth a visit.

The Woolston Tannery was built circa 1870 from brick by Gustav Lindstrom, great-great grandfather of one of the Cassels Sons. The Cassels and Sons Brewery building stands on the banks of the Heathcote River.

My image shows the old Tannery buildings with the Heathcote River flowing in front. These buildings have been renovated since the time of the quakes, are now housing some interesting boutiques and eateries and have added a much needed destination for a deprived city.

Thank you - everyone who came! I hope we can do it again. And for those of you who wanted to come and couldn't quite make it, I hope we meet up with you another time.
