Citrus reticulata

A mandarin is a citrus of the Mandarin tree (Citrus reticulata), which is native to China. The mandarin resembles a small orange.

Mandarins come mainly from Spain and further from Morocco and Mexico. The main varieties are 'Kinnows', satsumas, 'Honey' and 'Royal'. The variety 'Common' is also counted among the species Citrus deliciosa.

The so-called Tangerine is a variety of mandarin. The names tangerine and Tangerine (Citrus tangerina) are sometimes used interchangeably. Tangerine contain nuts and sweet flavors. The main varieties are Fairchild and Dancy.
