Ivy

Much as it's celebrated at Christmas time, English or European Ivy (Hedera Helix) is a rampant tree-climbing parasitic plant. It's classified as invasive in many areas.

Someone's taken action here by cutting the stems at the base, as can be seen here, the leaves are green and living below the cut and dead and dried above.
