Marathon = tomorrow 5AM start

This small park right on the race route will be seething with runners tomorrow. PortaPotties lined up along the sidewalk curve, under a spreading tree which has recently been trimmed and shaped (see the large trunk cut off above the trash can). Beyond them you can see a group of markers which will be set up for outgoing and returning runner lanes. Tables with volunteers will also be handing out cups of water and sponges. Outgoing runners will take over this side of the divided roadway for awhile with the leaders (men and women) having a motorcycle/filming escort. When it thins out abit, there will be only 1 lane cordoned off for the slower ones and the walkers and then early afternoon, the markers will be moved back to the sidewalk. No one living on east end will be going out til midday at earliest.
Park is about mile 13 going out and about mile 21 coming back in. Finish is in Kapiolani Park, across from the beach.
Used to walk down to the turnaround point and clap, encouraging runners, but this year don't think I know anyone running. Think I'll have a lie-in and watch the news and the special later.
Kona (southerly) winds have returned, so it will be clear, cool and still for the early runners, but probably hot and humid later on.

Best of luck, to everyone (runners, volunteers, officials, families, et al) !
