Itsenäisyyspäivä

Today is Finnish Independence Day (or Itsenäisyyspäivä), which means Finnish flags flying from every building and lots of nice food. There is also a student parade that takes place; students walk from the western side of the city to the senate square with burning torches and wearing their high school graduation caps. The students are organised into their counties (each flag being the flag of a different county).

Also went to see "The World's End" today (the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost film that was shot in my hometown). It was so strange to see so many familiar places on the big screen in another country!
