Nicky and her Nikon

The reluctant model...

We had such fun at the rugby dinner last night. It was held at the National Trust owned property of Chartwell, which as you may know was once Winston Churchill's home. Not in his house but in a special function room. The boys were so smart in their rugby ties and blazers, and first the captain and then the main coach both said excellent and funny speeches. Each boy was talked about, and we saw photos and video footage of the highlights of the season's matches. As a parent I was grateful that we were included, as it was so special to see the camaraderie and bond that has built up amongst the boys as the season has gone on. After dinner the boys then went on to a club (a very low key one in the area) but Luke chose to come home as he wanted to catch up on his sleep in preparation for his university interviews next week.

Today has been busy with chores at home and I have had not time to go out in search of a blip. Gavin was my only possible victim subject. He was not willing - 'This is not going on blip is it?' he naively asked. Too late...

We are shortly off to the carol service at the older boys school. I do love a good carol service, singing all those favourite carols with annual vigour. Luke had to be back at school for a hockey match at 1.30pm and then he is playing the trumpet for the descant in two carol services today. No wonder he tried to get an early night last night. Adam sings in the chapel choir and like me enjoys a good carol or two. Once that carol service is over, then Christmas for me has officially begun.
