DARK DAWN

This photography hobby can be hard work.
Up with the larks, drive to the harbour
for a bracing walk round the headland.
Tripod on the jetty,
before the sea had really given it up.
Standing looking at the horizon
A few test shots, wipe the spray off the filter

Waiting and watching,
for sunrise over a sea still boiling from the storm.
Having climbed over rocks slick with spray.
Wrapped in wooly bunnet, scarf and gloves.
Standing looking at the horizon
A few test shots, wipe the spray off the filter

A vague orange glow climbing the sky
Somewhere south of Stonehaven
30 or 40 miles away from me.
Normally it is almost right in front of me
Standing looking at the horizon
A few test shots, wipe the spray off the filter

Standing looking at the horizon.
No gold, or orange or pink,
Just bluey grey
So it's a test shot!
This Blipping hobby can be hard work.
