Handsome tree on Gallows Hill

I hardly ever take photos of Dunoon other than vistas from my window. But this morning was so suddenly beautiful after yesterday's gloom that I was drawn to feature this big tree in the centre of old Dunoon, near where the Lamonts were hanged by the Campbells in 1646. To the left is Milton House - council offices - and away to the right the original grammar school building that now houses Dunoon Primary School. Immediately behind the tree, and partly hidden by it, is the High Kirk - like most of Dunoon's churches, a 19th century construction.
