Christmas

Christmas was originally a religious holiday that has now turned into a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. And this upsets me because as each year goes by people are more and more consumed with the "commercial" part of Christmas and often forget what Christmas time really represents.

Christmas used to be a time when people would celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to live among us and then die for us, for our sins, on the cross.
But as each year passes this world is becoming more and more consumed with "gifts". Shopping for Christmas gifts is no longer a joyous occasion. It's become stressful and hard. More and more It seems to me like we "give" and "gift" because we have to and not because we want to.

Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is to feel the joy of Christmas's past. Because the Christmas's of present sadden my soul.
