Málaga

So Alice is studying in Málaga so on the Sunday we made the two hour trip over towards the coast, having only been to the airport it was nice to see some of the city! We arrived late afternoon and went for a walk around the port just before the sun was about to go down, so the light was beautiful. Its definitely that little bit more touristy than Granada, there were so many people about! Its also noticeably warmer there than in Granada. After a bit of a wander, we headed to the Picasso museum, I hadn't actually realised that he was born in Málaga. Obviously spent most of his life in France, but they like to claim him as their own. Having seen Guernica twice in the past month or so, it was nice to see some of his other works! From there we went on to a great tapas place for dinner. Although you didn't get to choose your tapas like the majority of bars in Granada, this was more than made up for by the size of the portions and the fact that their 1 euro glass of wine was actually pretty decent! Think we ended up in there for about three hours, but then most of that time was spent desperately trying to catch a waiter's attention. They put a lot of effort into ignoring you if your timing doesn't suit them. After a couple of attempts asking for the bill, we were finally allowed to pay and moved on to a massive cocktail bar full of celebrity-signed wine barrels. Antonio Banderas had been there so of course it must be good. And in fairness they did one of the few decent mojitos I've had in Spain so they got my seal of approval too. Although I wasn't asked to display it on a barrel...
