Reindeer - where's Father Christmas?

Yesterday D saw Father Christmas and asked him where his reindeer were. Today we saw reindeer at a local garden centre & farm shop and he asked us where Father Christmas was... He's really engaging with Christmas, at least the modern non-religious symbols this year - can spot the smallest reindeer, snowman, santa, bauble anywhere and points it out to me. I tried reading a very simple version of the Christmas story to him too, but he couldn't get past his confusion over Mary - to him that's just a good friend of mine and the picture didn't look much like her.... and anyway Mary doesn't have a donkey does she mummy?!
