Terminus!

So, job done and a couple of lovely evenings with friends: it was a good trip.

This morning, though, the epic journey back to the south lakes awaited me. The A14/M6 route seemed too dull to contemplate but there was a more interesting journey to be had by travelling up the A1, cutting 'round Sheffield and Manchester.

It was on the road between those two cities that I I saw this, the end of a chain of pylons, something I can't remember seeing before. So, I found a lay-by, grabbed my camera and trotted back to take this shot. It was an interesting vantage point: a low-walled - and easily jumped - area of grass, like the ruins of something but heaven knows what.
