Light Rail Progress Report

I thought it was time I gave an update on progress of the Light Rail project. The disused freight line that once connect with Darling Harbour Goods Yard and various small sidings along the way is being transformed to extend the Metro Light Rail to Dulwich Hill. This station is Dulwich Hill Interchange and is the end of the line.

The tall structure is the lift which connects the platform with the carpark at the top of the cliff. The other option is to take the stairs. The platform is only partial shown and is to the right of the photo. There still appears to be quite an amount to do but apart from hand rails and landscaping it is nearly complete.

The current plan is for a six week testing period, using current trams, to begin on 7 January next year. Testing will be mostly conducted late at night when the carriages are no longer required for normal duty.
