My Split Personality

I've noticed that in most big cities you will find Chinatown right next to Little Italy. Besides being the remaining vestiges of immigrant neighborhoods, the physical proximity of these two cultures represented an unheard of dining opportunity for those who simultaneously craved a plate of chow fun followed by ravioli.

This was my dining style growing up back east, Chinese and Italian mixed with some Italian and Chinese. As I prepared tonight's dinner, I looked down and suddenly realized my culinary split personality was looking right back at me from the pot and wok. Penne pasta cooking up alongside stir fried veggies with hoisin sauce.

Mmmm. Comfort food.
