Scottish explorer and merchant adventurer Alexander Berry (1781-1873) knew a profitable good thing when he saw it, but it's fair to say he made his own luck. We often make a pitstop in Berry, the town in the Shoalhaven named after him, but I hadn't noticed this memorial until today, when I was stretching my legs in a small park at the edge of town. The plaque tells how, as the first European settler in the region, he wrought large expanses of prosperous farmland out of bush and swamp - and, on the flipside, how he funded a hospital and also, back in Scotland, the Chair of English Literature in the University of St Andrews. But there was much more to the man than that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Berry

Anyone know how I can make the link function work from an iPad?
