This evening saw BIB hold a xmas get together event at the Rutalnd Hotel.
Over Mulled wine and mince pies more than 30 guests enjoyed a hugely entertaining talk by Jeff Bates about what Britain in Bloom involves both locally and nationally and the amazing success it's had since it's inception and how it goes from strength to strength.
Of particular interest was the effect a town inspired by the work of Bloom groups can have on its economy and community with participating towns benefiting greatly.
This year Bakewell in Bloom had its biggest success with a silver gilt award, coming so close to a gold which would have seen them going through to the national finals.
There was a huge amount of interest and enthusiasm from those present in next years event, where Bakewell will be 'going for gold'!
