Radio goes to market

Orton Christmas Market was very busy this morning and the rain held off until lunchtime, so that helped. Every stall seemed to be doing a good trade and there was a nice festive atmosphere. I didn’t take many photographs and was not happy with the ones I did take. There were too many people and I was too busy shopping anyway.

This looks like a crowd round a popular stall, but actually what was going on here was an interview between the presenter of the morning show on BBC Radio Cumbria (with the red reindeer antlers!) and the stall holder (the darker antlers!). Whether the people in front were actually queuing to buy or just curious to hear what was going on I don’t know. The whole radio show was being broadcast from a gazebo close by and the presenter walked round the stalls chatting to people. It was quite fascinating to watch. I wonder how many people the radio had brought in to the market. Maybe not so many, as it is one of the most popular markets in the area anyway.
