Why Do The Nations So Furiously Rage Together?

Superb performance of Handel's Messiah by the Ulster Orchestra, soloists and the Philharmonic Choir on this, the 200th anniversary of the first performance in Belfast, which itself came 71 years after the first-ever performance in Dublin in 1742.
Kenneth Montgomery conducted with Claudia Boyle (Soprano), Paula Murrihy (Mezzo-soprano), Anthony Gregory (Tenor) and William Berger (Bass).
Also great to hear the "recitativo" passages with a lute accompaniment.
Pity about the crap image!
