wander, stumble, wonder

A favoured toy

Don't ask. We don't understand it either.

We learnt quickly, after my parents woke up to find him shredding less hardy steel wool in their bed, and found him a heavy duty one that won't be gobbled or shredded. For a while we had to keep all the scrubbers in the dishwasher out of cat reach, but now he has his very own he's content. I've (kinda accidentally) trained him to need playtime just before bed, and one of his favourite games is for us to kick this back and forth on the cork tiles, and he runs back and forth skidding and sliding to catch it then wait for the next turn. But he can throw this around himself too, snagging it on his claws then shaking it off.

We have bought him a few things, but when his favourite toys are a tennis ball in an old sock and a bit of steel wool it's just not worth it.
