Carols and carillons

Tonight I was with friends for dinner and a concert in the cathedral with a profusion of hand bell ringers, choristers and instrumentalists.

A very lukewarm audience despite some great choral action, interesting tunes and some slightly surreal wavings of shiny bells in a syncopated fashion (which were very clever but for some reason I couldn't get the mental image of Monty Python's Mouse Organ sketch out of my mind!).

Lovely evening, and I was reminded of a handbell from my childhood, which my (Great) Aunty Iris used to let me peal. So I dug it out for a piccy!
