Gloucester Cathedral by night

Called in at short notice today to shoot a shift for the Citizen, the final job of the day was the King's School carol concert at Gloucester Cathedral. As if the students singing wasn't wonderful enough, the building itself looked amazing floodlit as I walked away.
How astonishing must cathedrals have been to people in medieval times when they were built if they can still amaze us today..?
