Leftovers

What a lovely happy evening we had with our family yesterday.
A real pre Christmas celebration.

This ham is all that is left.
It was a large piece. 5 kg. I cooked it in the oven with oranges and cinnamon, and then a glaze of orange, redcurrant and port jelly, sugar and a dash of wine vinegar.
( recipe is one of James Martins)
Everyone had seconds, and some even fourths!!
All 41 roast potatoes gone, and some wanted more!
Just one or two sprouts left, no carrots, or green beans, a couple of spoons of red cabbage.
The chocolate log.... all gone.
Trifle... two helpings left.

I think everyone enjoyed it. We did!

Out again today, and we have been to Skipton Golf Club for the Walking Club Christmas lunch.
Always good food and even better company. Had a good laugh with friends.

Thank you for all your kind comments over the last few days. I am trying to catch up with everyone. It just seems to be a busy week!

The amaryllis in yesterday's blip, was three stems of flowers I bought from our veg.farm shop. I just put them in a vase along with some ivy, and artificial silver flowers.
Just £4.50. and they are stunning!
