Diana Bell explained that she wanted to create a work which reflects family and the supportive community of Blackbird Leys, as well as a universal image of humans as social beings.

All credit to Lidl for commissioning a sculpture outside their store - though I have to say they look about as happy as I'd feel if I were stuck between the sound and fury of cars on the busy road and the beeping and buying of a bustling supermarket.
