Goodbye Thailand – for now! We'll hopefully be back to see your beaches in a month or so!

A bit of confusion about the border crossing when we got to Chiang Kong. Seems that a new bridge opened 3 days ago and the boat crossing that is mentioned in the guide book and all the tour agencies is no more! Tuk Tuks did try to tell us, but we've been told things are closed before...Turns out they were telling us the truth this time!

Got over to Laos eventually after paying for Tuk Tuks, shuttle buses and some very random border charges. From what I hear we have a lot of these to look forward to in South East Asia!

Found a really nice guest house with this lovely view over the Mekong river. We have two days of sitting on one of these boats to look forward to now!
