On way to Whakapapa...

Now in the North Island after catching the ferry to Wellington. We decided to head straight for Tongariro National Park. On route to our camp site in 'Whakapapa' we spotted the Tongariro volcano (on the left) and Ruapehu (on the right). We later found out these are the mountains used in The Lord of the rings trilogies - Mount Tongariro being 'Mount Doom' in the films!
