Cow with new calf

This cow has just given birth and she is protective of her new calf. She is a dairy cross and will have too much milk for just one, so my husband has another calf, purchased yesterday, ready to go on to her. With a little persuasion she will accept the second calf. If left to her own devices she could develop mastitis and be in all sorts of trouble.
