A year in Canada

Day 68 – Thanksgiving, Ottawa

It’s Canadian Thanksgiving today! Art & Janine have a tradition of riding their horses on Thanksgiving morning before hosting their family and friends for a big gathering and dinner in the afternoon. This Thanksgiving, Art lucked out as he had two British visitors (and only three horses) which meant he didn’t get a horse! He had to chase us around taking our photo instead! So credit goes to Art for today’s photo. The ride was really fun, Janine is a very good and experienced horse rider so she was able to lead us through land close to their house and even through this pond! Janine’s horse is called Hunter, Michael was riding Bailey, and I was riding Cool who at 18.5 hands, is the biggest horse I have ever seen!

After our morning of riding, we had our first experience of Thanksgiving and got to meet Art & Janine’s family & friends, around 20 people in total. We also had our first taste of homemade pumpkin pie! Yumm!
