Winter

Woke up to snow in Seattle -to listen to the weather folks on TV you'd think it was a major storm. They must not have grown up in Chicago. We did change our route to avoid the worst of it but by the time we left Seattle at 12:30 it was raining--only real snow falling was at snoqualmie pass where only the trucks had to chain up for 5-10 miles. But we were delighted to get to Sleeping Lady resort in 3 hours to find at least there were a few inches of snow cover making everything white. This is late afternoon when the lights from the cabins look so cozy and the kids are happy to play outside. I think Fiona hasn't seen this much snow. Unfortunately there isn't enough for cross country skiing or snowshoeing but a walk around and an excellent dinner with our family of 10 was perfect today ! They had to take the day off from work and the kids had to leave school early ( after it started 2 hours late due to the snow!) to be together...I'm happy to be where it looks like winter remembering winter 50 years ago when we got married....
