New techniques

Never stop learning is a maxim I try to live by and today was one of those days where I lived by it. I've always been interested in product photography the way they can make a small product look fantastic with bright white backgrounds and superbly in focus all the way through from front to back. It's only when you start reading how to do this that you find it's jiggery pokery using a technique called Focus Stacking.

I'm probably going to do a video for Edinburgh Photography Workshop on it at some stage but essentially this is about 9 images all with a slightly different focal point joined together in photoshop and then blended so that everything looks sharp - pretty clever and looks great I think.
