A Christmas Scene
At last, at last the Christmas tree is decorated! Yesterday, Mr. W strung what he claims is two miles of lights, and then I hung what I'm quite sure must be at least two thousand crystal icicles, and tied seven hundred red satin bows in the branches! The treetop angel was stuck on top, as she has been for the past thirty four or so years. I'm afraid her dress is starting to look alarmingly like Miss Havisham's clothing. To quote Pip from Dickens' classic: " I saw that everything within my view which ought to be white, had been white long ago, and had lost its luster, and was faded and yellow." Poor old thing!
