Pylons marching across the Ochils

Soon there will be giant pylons marching across these mountins despite a very active “Stop the Pylons” campaign.

The mountains have been the source of much controversy because the government passed legislation allowing giant pylons- 600 standing at over 200ft each- to be installed on a line from the Highlands through to central Scotland.
After that they go underground.

Those protesting against the plan told the Public Enquiry that it would irrevocably damage Stirling's historic and natural landscape.

Their pleas were ignored. Building has now started.

What we all want to know is: why can't they go underground here?
