The Couple Arrive at the Stable.....

They arrived in Bethlehem. the couple made their way through the streets of Dudley wondering if the Romans had just sacked the town, but no, it always looks like that. Onward they rode, well Mary did, Joseph walked all the way dodging as best they could all the strange folks of the Black Country eating cooked hard skin of the Pig and talking very strangely. Eventually they came to Brierley Hill, Bethlehem and thought they had best stop as Mary was very close to having the baby.
Every Inn was full, not surprising this close to the festive season Census, as they were almost through the town they notice the last Inn, they asked the Inn Keeper and his Little Granddaughter if there was any room at the Inn.
"No, we're full up", the little Girls said.
"We will sleep anywhere", said Mary
"We have only the Summer House Stable where our animals stay" said The Inn Keeper.
"We'll take it", they both said in Unison.
And so it came to pass that the couple made their way to the "Stable" and made their selves comfortable.

The Inn Keeper and his Granddaughter left them and went inside the Inn where they came across Mrs BM the Inn Keepers Wife who asked them what they had been doing and before BM The Inn Keeper could come up with a good excuses, his Granddaughter shopped him and told of the couple in the
Summer House Stable.
I hope we don't have a re-occurrence of the past six years she shouted.
"No my love I'm sure we won't, lightning never strikes seven times" he said,
crossing his fingers and slipping away without looking into her eyes, and clipping his Granddaughters ear as he passed her.

He was heard to mumble, "I do hope there's no bloody sheep this year, she'll go bonkers".

And yet another day ends and the Nativity continues, as always.
