Hospital .....

..... visit.

This evening after work I headed down to London on the train to spend Christmas with family. The train journey wasn't the best I've been on. 20 minutes in to the journey the train slowed to a snails pace due to electrical problems and we ended up spending over 2 hours not moving on a siding 20 minutes outside Doncaster waiting for a rescue engine to tow us in to the station. Most of that time we were sat there with just the emergency lighting on in the carriages watching trains zip past on the main line. We were eventually towed in to Doncaster over two hours late and had to transfer on to the next train for the remaining 2 hours of the journey to London.

My brother picked me up from the station and drove me to visit dad in hospital where he's been since knackering his leg on Wednesday. The nurses looking after my dad are lovely and didn't mind us turning up at 11:30 at night. Dad's recovery isn't going too well and he's had a raised temperature and heart rate this afternoon. Whilst I was there tonight he had to have numerous drugs administered intravenously but it hasn't dampened his sense of humour and he had Desree ( blipped administering some drugs ) laughing all the time we were there. Unfortunately dad isn't going to be let out of hospital in time for Christmas, as long as he gets better that's the main thing.

It's been a long day and the birds are already chirping the dawn chorus outside ( it's 2:30 am ), so I should get some sleep. Sorry that this isn't the most pleasant photo, but today's blip is tonight's .....
