Welshtown

These old buildings can be found at Bendigo, an old gold mining area near Tarras.  They found gold in the 1860/70's, and the mines closed down in the early 1900's.   There were lots of miners cottages scattered throughout the area, plus old shafts, roads, cuttings and tunnels.  It was a super day out with the walking group.

I have now had a snooze, just need to pack the car and head to Twizel for a Christmas holiday.
