The Christmas issue

This is John. He's been selling the Big Issue outside Waverley station for a while now and as you can see has adopted a festive look in an attempt to increase sales. It costs him £1.25 for each magazine and he sells them for £2.50 each. It seems to me any profit he makes is being used to buy more magazines to sell.

According to the statistics, on average, a vendor's weekly revenue is £87. Fifty percent of vendors started sleeping rough before the age of 18 and the average life expectancy of someone living on the streets is 42 years old.

The Christmas edition is £3 so John will have an extra 50 pence a copy to spend on anything he likes.
